Salisbury Steak
This classic Salisbury Steak is smothered in a mushroom and onion gravy and is ready in just 35 minutes!
STEAK INGREDIENTS
2-3 tbsp breadcrumbs
2 tbsp minced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced it
200-220 gr ground beef
1 tbsp soy sauce/Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp Italian seasoning (basil/oregano/thyme)
1 egg beaten
salt
pepper
GRAVY INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp minced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced it
8 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp all purpose flour
150-250ml beef broth
150-250ml beef broth
soy sauce/Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper
DIRECTIONS
1. In a large bowl, mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, Italian seasoning, ketchup, soy sauce, egg and salt and pepper.
2. Form the meat mixture into 3-4 equal sized oval shaped patties.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Place the patties in the pan in a single layer. Cook until golden brown each side and cooked through. Remove the meat from the pan.
4. Melt the butter in the pan. Add the onion and mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Cook until vegetables have softened.
5. Whisk in the beef broth, ketchup and soy sauce and bring to a simmer.
6. In a small bowl, mix the flour with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and whisk until smooth. Cook until sauce has just thickened.
7. Add the meat back to the pan and spoon the gravy over the top.
8. Served meat with your favorites veggies.
