BEST BBQ Char Siu
Char Siu, or Chinese BBQ pork, is one of the most popular pork recipes in Cantonese cooking. Marinate it and let the oven do the work. Although skip some ingredients since I don't have it in my pantry but still taste awesome.
INGREDIENTS
450 pork tenderloin
3 cloves chopped garlic
SAUCE INGREDIENTS
2 pieces Chinese fermented red bean curd (skip)
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Chinese Shaoxing wine (skip)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp dark and thick soy sauce (kecap manis)
1 tsp five-spice powder
1/4 tsp white pepper powder
7 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Chinese Shaoxing wine (skip)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp dark and thick soy sauce (kecap manis)
1 tsp five-spice powder
1/4 tsp white pepper powder
7 tbsp sugar
DIRECTIONS
1. Get a big bowl, mix all the Char Siu Sauce ingredients, add the garlic and pork belly and marinate overnight in the fridge. Char siu marinated with char siu sauce.
2. The next day, heat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
3. Place the pork belly on a wire rack or in a pan lined with aluminum foil. Roast for 15 minutes. Removed from oven and turn the pork belly over, brush the remaining Char Siu Sauce on the pork. Continue to roast for another 15 minutes.
2. The next day, heat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
3. Place the pork belly on a wire rack or in a pan lined with aluminum foil. Roast for 15 minutes. Removed from oven and turn the pork belly over, brush the remaining Char Siu Sauce on the pork. Continue to roast for another 15 minutes.
